Led by Reb Irwin, Atzilah Solot, and Reb Judith Goleman
Tisha B’Av commemorates the destruction of our Temple in Jerusalem in 586 BCE and again in 70 CE. We also consider and mourn all the losses and exiles we have faced as Jews over the centuries. This is also a chance to notice the exiles of today and the dangers facing the planet. We will chant from the Book of Lamentations, offer medieval kinnot (poetry of lament), sing together, and offer our blessings to all who are displaced and in danger.
It is customary to arrive quietly without joyful greeting and to depart the same way.
