Torah Lishmah

Torah Lishmah means “learning for its own sake.”

The Torah Lishmah class* is an opportunity for young people past B.Mitzvah age to continue their Jewish learning on their own terms. Every month students will meet Rabbi Irwin at a convenient café or at his house. (Coffee is on him.) Together we will explore Jewish texts, history, mythology, philosophy – whatever the class decides they’d like to dive deeper into. This is learning for its own sake – not B.Mitzvah prep, not readying for a test. Learning for the pleasure and enrichment that only learning can provide.

Torah Lishmah meets once per month at Ner Shalom, Rabbi Irwin’s house, or a nearby coffee shop, October through May.

*Torah Lishmah requires a minimum of 4 registrants, so encourage your Post-B.Mitzvah friends to register, too!

Cancellation Policy

If you notify us at least 2 weeks in advance, we can process a full refund, deducting a 15% cancellation fee. Refunds will not be possible with less than 2 weeks' notice.
