 Introduction to Kabbalah

Two sessions: March 1 and 15

The word kabbalah derives from the Hebrew roots meaning “tradition” and “receiving.” While much of what we know about Judaism derives from its exoteric or mainstream aspects, kabbalah relates to the esoteric—the inner received experience of the Divine. Using a combination of text study and experiential learning, we will engage in a psychospiritual journey to explore a central symbol of kabbalah, the Cosmic Tree of Life as it relates to our own personal spiritual experience. Open to beginners and those with experience in kabbalistic study and meditation.

A modest registration fee will be announced.

Shoshana Fershtman, JD, PhD, is a Jungian analyst in private practice in Santa Rosa and a core faculty member at the Depth Psychology Masters’ program at Sonoma State University. She has spent many years studying the Jewish mystical tradition and the re-emergence of the Sacred Feminine in Judaism. She is completing a book on reconnection with Judaism in the wake of collective trauma.
