Led by Reb Judith Goleman
This 90-minute Beit Midrash class will examine a Rabbinic concept that there are “Seven Heavens”. These heavens are thought of as existing within our heart. Each is hidden by a veil . By removing the veil to each of the heavens we become closer and closer to inner holiness and joy and awareness of God.
The Seven Heavens are techniques to move from our normal day to day concerns toward contact with a glowing presence of Holiness that is said to exists deep within us.
In this class we will do exercises and receive assignments with the goal of removing each of these veils.
Rabbinic Pastor Judith Goleman, MFT, is a chaplain and also has a private practice in individual and couple counseling. As teenager she fell in love with the joyous tales of the Hasidic Rabbis of the 18th century, who saw God as the deep nature of everything in Creation (including us in our true potential). As an adult she encountered this spirit in the Jewish Renewal movement, and was lucky to study for her ordination as a Rabbinic Pastor in this spiritual approach. It also informs her psychotherapy practice.
