10:00 AM: Morning Service and Shofar
Registration Required. In person and in the High Holy Day Zoom Room.
With the guidance of Reb Irwin and our spiritual leadership and musical teams, we continue leaning into the sacredness of this day and the new year. This morning service includes High Holy Day prayers, a lively Torah reading about Jacob’s famous dream, and hearing the awe-inspiring blasts of the shofar.
4:00 PM Tashlikh and Seder Rosh Hashanah
Free and open to all. In person only, at Spring Lake Regional Park in Santa Rosa.
A double ritual – one to let go, and one to invite in!
We gather at the boat launch at Spring Lake Park to perform our ancient tashlikh ritual of letting go of what no longer serves us.
This is followed by a Seder Rosh Hashanah led by Rinat Abastado and friends, in which we bless and eat foods that symbolize our yearnings for the new year. This year we will lean especially into our longings for racial justice.
Bring a picnic for yourself if you’d like to make a meal of it.
DIRECTIONS TO SPRING LAKE BOAT LAUNCH
Enter the park through the entrance at 5585 Newanga Avenue, Santa Rosa. There will be a small entrance kiosk there. Entrance fee is $7 or free if you have a Sonoma County Park pass. Make a left after the kiosk and continue on. You will pass the Spring Lake camping area on your right. It may seem like you’re going too far but this is the right way. The road will dead-end at a large parking lot with the boat launch and dock straight ahead.
