Nitzanim Family Experiential Learning Program
A Day in the Vineyards
Please join Nitzanim Family Experiential Learning –– a kind of pop-up Jewish village that offers an opportunity for families to deepen in Jewish experience and learning through song, prayer, nature, art, story, and conversation. –– for a very special day in the vineyards.
Jewish ritual and tradition loves the liminal space – where we transition through different kinds of consciousness – private/public, asleep/awake, sacred/everyday. We mark these transitions with objects (mezuzah, for example), personal practices (hand-washing, prayer), and shared ritual, most notably havdalah.
For this program, we will explore Havdalah, a beautiful ritual that concludes Shabbat, and enjoy being together at Preston Farm and Winery, a family-operated, organic property in Healdsburg’s Dry Creek Valley. The land at Preston Farm and Winery has evolved from an emphasis on wine alone to diversified biodynamic farming, and is described as "being guided by the paradigms of happy chaos, serendipity and unintended consequences."
This event is open to enrolled Nitzanim families and to first-timers from the local Healdsburg community. Non-enrolled families must pre-register for this event. We can't wait to see you there!
Time: Program 10-12. Please arrive early to get settled so we can begin on time. And bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in community after the program!
