Join Rabbi Irwin Keller and Reb Mia Zimman as they share a cup of tea with their friend Hanan Huneidi, and hear how she, as a Palestinian American, is affected by the current conflict. This is intended to be the first in a series of teatime conversations sharing perspectives about the current conflict, the challenge of this divisive climate, and the core of our shared humanity.
Hanan Huneidi is a passionate advocate for social justice, community leadership, and diversity, bringing a unique blend of academic expertise and real-world experience to the discussion on the Palestinian lens. With a Master of Science in Education, and an undergraduate degree world religions, and her current role as a Director of Special Education, she has dedicated her career to educational inclusion and equity. She has actively contributed to her community through her involvement in an ad hoc committee for community restructure with the City of Petaluma and the establishment of the non-profit organization Petaluma Pride. Her firsthand experience of living in the Middle East further informs her perspective on the complex cultural and historical dynamics of the region. She looks forward to sharing her insights and knowledge as we engage in meaningful conversations about the Palestinian experience.
Mia Zimman is Ner Shalom's Family and Youth Educator. Irwin Keller serves as rabbi of Congregation Ner Shalom.
