Shavuot by Daylight!
We continue our Shavuot Learning about ways revelation comes to us, so long after Mt. Sinai.
Join us around the table at Ner Shalom to study with Rabbi Irwin Keller and with Beit Midrash Dean Barbara Lesch McCaffry.
With Reb Irwin we will look at the tradition of the bat kol – the Divine Voice that would issue forth to deliver God's word to people who were not designated as prophets. With Barbara we will look at how some of today's poets experience and express Divine calling and closeness in their poems, looking particularly at excerpts from Amanda Gorman and Mary Oliver.
This teaching is in person only.
There will be cheesecake.
This is a free event. We ask you to sign up so we can have enough chairs and enough dairy (and faux dairy) treats.
