Diane Frank and other Ner Shalom members join the Golden Gate Symphony Orchestra & Chorus for an unforgettable music and multimedia tribute to the talent and resilience of Jewish composers who continued to create music even while imprisoned during the Holocaust.
This concert is also the world premiere concert of "Tree of Life," an orchestral suite by Matt Anerich, based on the poem our congregant, Diane Frank, wrote after the synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh.
Hear the music and learn the life stories of highly accomplished composers such as Hans Krasa, Pavel Haas, Ilse Weber and Viktor Ullman. Hear from Bret Werb, Music & Sound Recording Curator at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum how the music was rescued; and top it all off with a World Premiere by Bay Area composer Matthew Arnerich and poet Diane Frank, all under the baton of Maestro Urs Leonhardt Steiner, Conductor of the Golden Gate Symphony.
