Led by Leiah Bowden
Praying is more than reading or saying words directed to God. In the first hour we will journey through guided visualization from ordinary reality to the inner realm – ha makom – in which communication with and in the sacred has potent agency. We’ll share our experience (optional) in dyads and come together again in the larger group. In the second hour we’ll look at different kinds of prayer, enter again into sacred space and find or create our own prayerful expressions in whatever form they arise.
Leiah Rubin Bowden is an ecstatic servant of the divine and a lifelong searcher for pathways into the numinous. She has studied with Reb Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, Pir Valayat Khan, and other teachers in various realms of light. She established her spiritual mentoring and mirroring practice, Lightspeak Transformational Arts, to help people open to their birthright of wonder, self-approval and their own radiance. She believes that love is a communicable ease and that there is no time out: everything counts. She is a service leader in Congregation Ner Shalom and dedicated her most recent book, Amidah in the Pandemic: received blessings, to Rabbi Irwin Keller and Congregation Ner Shalom.
