10am Family Experiential Learning
This portion of the morning is just for enrolled Nitzanim families: We come together to prepare mishloach manot gift bags, play theater games, and do a deep-dive into Purim characters and values.
11:15am Snacks
The entire congregation and friends are invited for hamentaschen and schnapps (well, that’s just for the adults) in the oneg room.
11:30am Act-Along Megillah and Rolling Out the New Scroll
We gather across the generations to read excerpts from our new, freshly scribed megillah, and to enact scenes from our Purim story. Join us to honor the Ner Shalomers who are learning to chant in the traditional Esther melody (under the tutelage of Rachel Friedman) in order to inaugurate our megillah.
Bring a noisemaker so we can drown out the name of Whatsisname whenever it comes up. Costumes encouraged, including bringing spare stuff to share from your household drag-bag. Consider bringing a box of mac & cheese to use as a grogger, which we can then donate to the Food Bank!
Fair warning: be ready to be conscripted into playing a role in the tale!
