This month marks the release of Shoshana Fershtman’s pioneering book, The Mystical Exodus in Jungian Perspective: Transforming Trauma and the Wellsprings of Renewal. As a Jungian analyst and a student of Jewish mysticism, Shoshana explores the journey of transforming personal, collective and transgenerational trauma engendered by the Holocaust and other campaigns of anti-Semitic terror, through engagement with Jewish mysticism, ancestral wisdom and the sacred Feminine.

Join us for a conversation between Dr. Shoshana Fershtman and Rabbi Irwin Keller, as we explore these topics and what they mean in our lives, and celebrate Shoshana’s great accomplishment.

The book explores the moving experiences of her own and others' reconnection with Judaism through Jewish mystical engagement. Shoshana delves into the archetypal journey of the Exodus story through the lenses of mystical midrash and Jungian psychology. Surprisingly, our ancestral texts offer profound insight on healing from personal and collective trauma that presages much of contemporary neuroscience and psychological theory. Through this exploration, Shoshana draws lessons on how the symbolism and mysticism of the Exodus, along with present-time encounters with the holy can bring about deep healing.

This event will take place in the Ner Shalom Online Sanctuary. While is a free event, registering will help us make sure you’ve got the info you need, including the Zoom link which can also be found in a Ner Shalom eBlast. If you do not currently receive the eBlast but would like to, click here.
