Raising Anti-Racist Kids

  • Ner Shalom 85 La Plaza Cotati, CA, 94931 United States (map)

Join Nitzanim on the first Wednesday of the month as we join together in thoughtful dialogue on how we as parents can raise race-conscious and anti-racist children. What tools, questions, and guidance can we give our children, and receive from them, as Jewish humans of this generation and next?

Facilitated by Jenny Levine-Smith, a writer and an educator dedicated to Equity and Justice in the world as a whole and in education in particular. She is a former middle school teacher, former director of Beth Ami Community Nursery School, and the board president of the Children's Museum of Sonoma County. She is currently working on her Master's Degree in Equity and Social Justice in Education at San Francisco State University, having previously earned her BA in Education at Brown University and her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at Sonoma State. She sees her Jewish identity as a crucial base for her commitment to equity and justice, and is deeply committed to supporting black- and brown-led organizations in their fight for the recognition of their full humanity.
