Yiddish Tish – Celia Dropkin

  • Beit Midrash Zoom Classroom 85 La Plaza Cotati, CA (map)

Led by Reb Irwin Keller

First Wednesday of Each Month

A Zoom gathering to read the work of Yiddish writers in the original; translate together; discuss, laugh and enjoy. And miraculously, no previous Yiddish knowledge is required. Join us!

This month we read two of Celia Dropkin’s most famous – and most interesting – poems: “Adam” and “The Acrobat.” (For a musical preview of “The Acrobat,” click here.) In these poems, Dropkin explores gender, power, and Eros in ways that shock and arouse (the imagination at least).

Please register using the button above. We gather on Zoom and you will receive the Zoom address upon registration. Registration also gives you the opportunity to make a donation to support this program.

See you then. It will be a mekhayeh!
