MORNING MEDITATION – 9:00 AM
Guided by Basha Hirschfeld. Hold silence and the immensity of the transformation within us. (1 hour)
MORNING SERVICE – 10:30 AM
Led by Reb Irwin and Friends
We move deeper into our practice of teshuvah, finding the path back to our own selves, repairing our hearts and relationships in order to continue the journey. The service will include a deep, experiential presentation of our Torah portion, in which Jacob wrestles with a mysterious shadowy presence, on the eve of crossing a river to return home. (2 hours)
HEALING SERVICE – 2:00 PM
Led by Stephanie Brown and Reb Irwin
We re-gather to dip into waters of healing, on behalf of ourselves, our loved ones and our fragile planet itself. (1 hour)
MINCHA OPTION A: THE STORY OF JONAH – 3:30 PM
Join Rinat Abastado for a deep and transforming text study of the Book of Jonah, our most reluctant prophet. When he ends up at the bottom of the sea in the belly of a big fish, how is he transformed? And what does that mean for us? (1 hour)
MINCHA B: THE RIVER OF EXPRESSION – 3:30 PM
Let Susie Stonefield Miller take you on a journey of artistic expression as a transformative practice. Have handy whatever art supplies you keep in your house (a ballpoint pen and the back of an envelope will do in a pinch) and your High Holy Day journal. (1 hour)
YIZKOR SERVICE – 5:00 PM
Led by Sally Churgel
As we take stock on Yom Kippur, we are aware of those who have gone before us whose influence we still feel. Join us for memory, story and song. Please have ready photos or memorabilia of loved ones whose loss you hope to reflect on. (75 minutes)
NEILAH SERVICE – 6:30 PM
Led by Reb Irwin
In our Jewish imagination, the Gates of Heaven swing shut at the end of Yom Kippur. The Neilah service is our last communal opportunity to make amends, to achieve new resolve, to write our own intentions into the Book of Life. The service is followed at 7:15 PM by a short havdalah. Please be sure to have some food at hand so we can break our fast together.
