Omer Counting Practice

  • Ner Shalom 85 La Plaza Cotati, CA, 94931 United States (map)

Led by Rinat Abastado

Beginning the second night of Pesach, we count 49 days until Shavuot. These days – called the omer – mark the progress of our fields from first barley to first wheat, and of our spirits from liberation from Egypt to revelation at Mt. Sinai.

There are several beautiful traditions for keeping count of these 7 weeks in ways that help us deepen in learning and that make this time frame one of growth, self-exploration, and sweet creativity. Read on!

Join us weekly – or whenever you can – for an hour of meditation and artistic expression, exploring the special qualities of this period of time.

In our first meeting Gesher Calmenson will introduce the practice of Omer counting using the sefirot of the kabbalistic Tree of Life. We will feel into how the qualities of the Tree of Life live in us at this moment.

We will also engage in the practice of employing words from the 49-word Psalm 67 as daily meditative prompts.

Come to all seven meetings or drop in when you feel called.

No registration necessary, just join us using the link that was sent to you in an eBlast from Ner Shalom. If you are not on our email list and would like to be, sign up here.
